Courtney Janotta and Emma Roberts, Paralegals of the firm, participated in the Leeds Legal Walk on Monday 14 June 2018. Here’s their reflection on the event:
“We saw announcements for the upcoming Leeds Legal Walk and both of us volunteered to walk on behalf of the firm for a great cause. The purpose of the 10K walk was to raise money for legal advice services that assist the poorest and most vulnerable people in our community. Funding for legal advice services has reduced, particularly since the 2013 removal of much of legal aid for humanitarian and social welfare advice.
Our lovely colleagues sponsored us, and the firm had shirts made for us for the event!
We were both so happy to see a large and diverse turnout, with participates ranging from administrators to firm partners, and even a few furry four-legged friends. We both bumped into a few friends and former colleagues
The current funds raised for the event exceed £7,000 for local legal advice charities who do amazing work for our community, and we were happy to get involved.”
All of our donations received so far have been cash and cheque donations, however its not too late for you to contribute! If you would like to support this amazing cause please visit – https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/scesolicitorsleeds
